Prospective Authors
McFarland welcomes proposals for nonfiction manuscripts on a wide range of subjects, not limited to the following: performing arts (especially film, television, and radio), popular culture, history, women's studies, African American studies, sports, automotive history, international studies, librarianship, criminal justice, and literature. Reference books are one of our specialties. We suggest you browse our catalog to get a feel for our line.

We do not publish fiction, poetry, children's books, inspirational works, cookbooks, diet or self-help books, religious or political tracts, exposés, stories of personal triumph over adversity, or occult or New Age works.
